Introduction Strengthening the self-confidence of future professionals can help them achieve professional goals with a likelihood being able to in future. The objective was determine whether self-esteem, depression, and life satisfaction influence expectations Peruvian university students. Methods A total 708 students participated (64.8% were female, mean age = 21.49; SD 4.83). Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire-2, Life Satisfaction Adolescent Future Expectations Scale used. Structural equation modeling employed test impact selfesteem, on expectations. Results model relating study variables demonstrated an adequate fit ( p < 0.001, CFI 0.940, RMSEA 0.073), confirming relationship between self-esteem (β 0.33, 0.001), 0.28, depression −0.14, 0.010.)
